you are an attention seekeryou're only human, so you can't help but want a little attention every now and then.. you love the spotlight, but only when it's well deserved.
you'd hate to be known for the wrong thing.. and you also don't mind sharing the spotlight.
you can easily give someone else credit or a compliment.. you know there's enough attention to go around, and it makes you happy when your friends shine.. .
My results are in:
You're perfectly happy with who you are, other people are not.
Working hard to get people to like you is your idea of a nightmare.
You've got a lot going on for someone with half a brain.
You don't come across at all.
People may wrongly think you're not a gladiator but they are so mistaken.
the watchtower ?

the ultimate personification of evil, satan stands in bitter opposition to jehovah, who personifies love.. .
Jehovah as described in the OT does not personify love because he is made in the image of man. He is a human invention.
Since the beginning of human history people have tried to blame their acts of violence on a god. The Roman catholic church has one of the worse records. Recently both George Bush and Tony Blair said that their god had told them to attack Iraq. Look at what the Muslims blame their god for.
If I were to believe in a god, I would google until I found a loving, kind and friendly god to befriend. Alternatively I would create a god in my mind that lived up to my high expectations of what a god should be. Or I could share the god of PSacramento and Tammy.
Looking at the incomprehensible vastness of outer space, I would rather commune with the god of the universe than the god of the Israelites.
almost everyone has seen someone pray over the food at the dinner table, you know bless this food to our bodies and our bodies to your service, but tell the truth when was the last time god answered you?
ah like never?
so still we go on with the ritual of praying because some how its what god expects right?
Prayer is not without value. It is a way of communicating with your subconscious. If you believe that you are being heard and wait for an answer, one may pop into your head. The power of positive thinking is well documented.
This is not to discredit the testimony of those who believe their prayers were answered by their god. But even if your god is having a day off, your prayers and supplication may still help you to become more positive and resourceful.
anyone else have any experience of a couple of months after leaving the org...feelings etc??.
my husband has left too and feels the same as i do.. but we just seem to be arguing constantly at the moment, though i do feel this may be my own fault!
i feel soooo angry, bitter and annoyed at how things have turned out.
bez Most of us felt like that. I was the same age when I left.
It take years to fully adjust but you have your whole life ahead to put things right.
could someone please advise why the questions for public study on a sunday are no longer in the watchtower?.
also a while ago now the gatherings in private homes during the week for study also stopped.. i was told that it was in preparation of armageddon so that individuals could become more independant and have more time to establish their relationship directly with jehovah.
this was because the gb felt people were relying on the organization too much in providing their spiritual needs and with armageddon it may be that jws will not be able to access the support network that they currently have.

It is not about our perceptions of who or what god is.
We cannot answer the question to your specification until we know your perception of who or what God is.
Only then can we discuss how proof of God's existence would affect us. This is a complicated subject.
Once you have had your nap you might care to share.

What if God's existence was(were)proven to be true? - Is a provocative question because many people believe that it has been proven. The title is and assumption that it has not been proven. This is bound to be challenged.
I have barged into Christian threads and made, what I thought at the time were pertinent remarks, challenging statements that were made.
This is an open board and threads can meander and develop as a number of differing views are expressed. The more the merrier, or more importantly, the more the deeper and more balanced the discussion becomes.

If our creator is love (as my God is) and he granted that ability to his creation, then we can reflect the emotion of our creator. I think emotion is how we can come to know our creator.
Tammy - if the God of the bible was like you, the world would be a better place. I know this is a back handed compliment because you believe God to be all love, so you give credit for your loving disposition to him. This is what selfless people do. You always see the good in people and project your love on to them. I don't thank God for that - I thank you.
If God is the creator, then he is responsible for all emotion, both positive and negative. If not he would be only half of the equation and depend on a partnership with a devil to balance the universe. What you believe works for you, and allows you to make sense of who you are. I have nothing better to suggest replacing it with.

To believe that a 'deity' or 'intelligence' that "created" the universe" would be in any way, shape or form, physical or mental, like mere HUMANS, is just more insane human hubris.
This is the point I am at. I rule nothing out and nothing in. But the idea that 'God' would be in anyway like man seems a very limited horizon. Mankind is a fairly recent mammal to inhabit this particular planet.
Its a big universe out there. The Coma Cluster of galaxies (over 1000 galaxies) is 300,000,000 light years from earth. This puts our puny planet and humans in perspective.
